Corinium Sessions

The Corinium Sessions event returns to Corinium Museum with more ‘Music among the Mosaics’. Taking place in the atmospheric Hare Gallery, the crystal clear acoustics make it a truly unique way to experience live music.

Davey Dodds fronts a startlingly good live band described by Fantasy Forest Festival as “The Master of Celtic rock’n’reel”. The music is life-affirming and will set your feet dancing! Davey is a songwriter of renown. His classic, ‘The Magpie’, was recorded by The Unthanks, used on The Detectorists on BBC2 and broadcast from The Proms in 2018. The same song was covered by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd in 2020.

A recent review described the band members as “forces of nature”. Davey himself provides the lead vocals and plays electric and acoustic octave mandolins. Gillie Hotston flies her electric violin, Dan Billing drives the music with his bass and Colin Loveless powers the band with his drums.

They will be joined by Stroud based acoustic duo ‘The Peekies’ who have been enthralling audiences with their beautiful close harmonies and intricate guitar work which brings their brand of Americana folk to vivid life. The original songs Chris and Christina write are sure to move and entertain you!

Also on the lineup is local singer songwriter Daniel Billing, whose music is a blend of folk and Americana influenced tunes ranging from intense instrumental pieces to sing along ditties and fast paced bluegrass infused sounds. Daniel likes to tell stories, old and new, fantasy and reality to make music to stir your soul.

Tickets for this highly entertaining evening are strictly limited so booking is highly recommended. The event will be adhering to any Covid regulations in force at the time. A licensed bar will be operating.
