Description

A fine gold solidus of the Emperor Honorius, 383 to 423AD. Honorius was the emperor who, in 410AD, famously told the British to “Look to their own defences” when they asked for help to deal with invaders. This is traditionally seen as the end of Roman occupation of Britain.
