- Copper-alloy military horse harness pendant dating from the 1st century AD, found at St Michael's Field in 1974. Soon after the start of the Roman occupation in 46AD, a cavalry fort was established in what became Corinium. Many horse-and-rider-related objects date to the 30-year period before the town was officially founded.
