Corinium Menders

Do you enjoy sewing and mending? Do you find slow stitch a pleasure? Why not become one of our volunteer menders.

The museum uses historical costume in the galleries and for our school workshops. These garments have to work really hard and sometimes need a little TLC or even remaking. We would also like to introduce some new costumes into our Roman galleries. So if you think you would like to make a stitch in time, make tunicas, togas or pallas, or help mend monks habits, email Caroline, Collections & Education manager, to express an interest.

We hope to get a few volunteers who could get together in our Winstone Centre for tea, chat and mending sessions every few months, or if you prefer, you can volunteer from home.
