Gladiator School

A specially curated day for classes of up to 32 children.

During your visit, your class will explore the galleries, experience an Everyday Life of the Romans session and a Gladiator school workshop.

For Gladiator school, we bring in a professional re-enactor who recreates a day at the amphitheatre: starting with a day at the market, gladiator training, entering the arena, animal hunts and winning freedom. Pupils will learn battle tactics (with foam weapons) just like Roman Gladiators in the amphitheatre. This is a 45-minute interactive show with time for questions and artefact demonstrations.

Cost includes workshops, entry to the museum and use of the lunch room.

“Titus” is a brilliant exhibitor and very true to the experience. This means that some scenes are graphic and denote violence. In general the children love it, but feel free to step outside with any child sensitive to the experience.
