- Description
- The Venus mosaic dates from the third to fourth century AD and was found at Kingscote in an excavation in the 1970s. Venus is shown in the centre of the mosaic wearing a diadem and a beaded necklace. Across her left shoulder is a mirror, an attribute frequently found with the goddess in a reference to beauty.
