- Description
- Mounted beaver tooth, found in grave 18 during excavations at an Anglo-Saxon cemetery at Butler's Field, Lechlade, Gloucestershire, in 1985. European beavers, though now extinct, were very common in this period and were often hunted for their teeth. These were turned into amuletic charms and worn for good luck or fertility.
