Description

This large and important Civil War hoard consists of 307 silver and 2 gold coins. It was found under the floor of a former barn in Weston sub Edge in 1981. The coins were contained in a specially made lead pipe and were accompanied by a scrap of paper which declared 'Ye Hoard is £18.' The person who buried this money never made it back to collect it.
