- Description
- In the central medallion of the Seasons mosaic Silenus is depicted reclining on a donkey. Silenus is a companion of the wine god Bacchus. We know from antiquarian records that the opposite compartment of the mosaic originally showed Bacchus himself, seated on a leopard.
