Admiral’s Walk-Dolphin

Image of Admiral’s Walk-Dolphin

Description
Fragment from a third century AD mosaic found in excavations at Admiral's Walk, St. Michael's Field, Cirencester in 1974. The mosaic depicts a dolphin, heart-shaped leaves, a bud, and a curved feature which probably represents a crown (with the isolated black object a detached strand of ribbon) used as a good luck symbol.
