Kids in Museums

kids in museums

The Corinium Museum is pleased to support the Kids in Museums Manifesto.

The Corinium Museum is committed to ensuring children and families are made to feel welcome as part of their visit. We offer a family ticket upon entry to help keep costs of visiting down.

Facilities include; baby changing areas, cloakrooms for pushchairs and spacious galleries to accommodate prams. Plentiful toilets are clean and spacious.

Each school holiday we devise a programme of events specifically for children with family drop-ins, discovery zones, children’s workshops and family fun trails all available during the holiday period. Every year we take part in the Kids in Museum Takeover Day giving children a chance to take over an aspect of museum work.

Galleries are designed to offer stimulation for people of all ages. Computers and an interactive app is available for teenagers and hands on activities facilitate enjoyment in many of the galleries. Early years tables and play boxes can be found around the museum with a reading area on the first floor.

Our shop stocks high quality gifts, toys, games and souvenirs suiting many different tastes and pockets. We welcome children in all areas of the museum so don’t be shy.

The museum does not have its own on site café but there are plenty of places to eat a short distance away in Cirencester town. One café can be accessed from the museum’s Roman military gallery.

We hope you enjoy your visit and love to hear your feedback via Twitter, Trip Advisor, Facebook, Google+ or e-mail. If we can help in any way, please do not hesitate to ask.
