Mini Mosaics

LEGO® Brick Build Event

Monday 18 December

Sessions: 10:00am, 10:45am, 11:30am, 12:15pm, 1:00pm, 1:45pm

A chance to become a LEGO® brick builder for the day just in time for Christmas. Build alongside international LEGO® Brick Artist Kevin Hall from Brick Galleria in these awesome Christmas building sessions. Create a Christmas themed model using the thousands of bricks available and learn some great building techniques. Book now to avoid disappointment! Under 4’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Medieval Winter Beasts

Wednesday 27 December, 10.30-11.30am

Medieval monks made encyclopaedias of animals and birds, both real and mythical. Join us to create your own Bestiary, drawing animals from the local winter landscape and animals from your imagination. Make a winter bestiary to take home.

Roman Soldier Peg Doll

Monday 12 February, 10.30-11.30am

March into the museum and soldier out with your own Roman legionnaire! This directed activity will allow your child the creativity to design their own implements, and learn a bit about Cirencester’s Roman military.

Roman Games

Ever wonder how Romano-British children passed the time? Put down those gaming devices and come along to make an authentic Roman game that will entertain for hours. We will be creating custom gaming pieces and a gaming board for your children to take away and teach to their friends. Hope you can count you in!

‘Trouble at the Museum!’

Special Family Event with Tracey Corderoy

Thursday 5 April, 10.30-12pm      

Author of Hubble Bubble and Shifty McGifty, Tracey Corderoy visits the museum to share an interactive reading from her books ‘Shifty McGifty’ and ‘Baddies, Beasties and a Sprinkling of Crumbs.’ Be inspired by Henrig Crumb and create your own invention or museum object for book marks to take home.

Waterstones will be selling copies of Tracey’s books and she will be happy to sign books after the event.

Roman Draw

Friday 6 April, 10-11am

Join James to draw amazing artefacts from the secret museum store. See Stone Age and Roman objects up close. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring any art equipment and a sketchbook. This is a relaxed, fun and friendly workshop with gentle guidance if needed.
