Walking Roman Cirencester
New for the Summer of 2023 Corinium Museum, in collaboration with Cotswold Heritage Walks, is excited to launch a series of historic walking tours. Corinium Museum at The Old Prison
Join us for a day of Corinium in the stir! We’re not getting sent up for bad behaviour, but at his majesty’s pleasure we will present a bit of the museum to our rural residents, or just to make it a little easier to get some hands-on summer learning opportunities. A day of re-enactment with the Ermine Street Guard. Watch battle formations in the museum’s Hare gallery, hear about the soldier’s kit, daily life and weaponry. Children will have the chance to take part in a Soldier School and there will be living history tables for you to meet Roman soldiers and people around the galleries. Haunted Cirencester
A tour around the town exploring some of the haunted stories, urban legends and ghostly happenings associated with some of the historic buildings in Cirencester. Tour lasts approximately 1 hour. Holding Cosmic Dust is an exhibition intervention at the Corinium Museum staged by artist duo Hot Desque.
