Project Update

Stone Age to Corinium

Project works are moving into Phase 2 with our temporary entrance, shop and visitor information centre now located in Abberley House.

In the New Year, the original museum entrance will re-open with stunning improvements to the Welcome desk, shop and temporary exhibition space. The final phase of works begin as the new gallery displays are fitted out and the discovery centre prepared for use.

In the background, objects have been conserved including rare Beaker pots and an Iron Age dog skeleton is being pieced together by Lancashire Conservation Services. Redman Partnership LLP have been making mounts for the objects in time for display in 2020 and Cliveden Conservation have moved the internationally important military tombstones ready for unveiling in their new location as the project nears completion.
