Christmas Brick Build Event

A chance to become a LEGO® brick builder for the day just in time for Christmas. Build alongside international LEGO® Brick Artist Kevin Hall from Brick Galleria in these awesome Christmas building sessions. Create a Christmas themed model using the thousands of bricks available and learn some great building techniques. Book now to avoid disappointment! Under 4’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Stories with Santa

The Yarn Whisperer

Wednesday 20 December, 10-10.30am and 11.30-12pm

Celebrate Christmas with a visit to the museum to meet Santa in a stunning grotto. Hear what life is like through tales from the North Pole. Santa will share his stories from the North Pole which feature elves, penguins, polar bears and Mrs Claus. The story will last 15-20 minutes followed by traditional gift giving to the children in the audience. A special experience for all the family.

Medieval Winter Beasts Children’s Workshop

Medieval monks made encyclopaedias of animals and birds, both real and mythical. Join us to create your own Bestiary, drawing animals from the local winter landscape and animals from your imagination. Make a winter bestiary to take home.

Medieval New Year’s Greetings Family Drop-in

Thursday 28 December, 10-11am

In the Middle Ages monks and nuns sent greetings at New Years instead of Christmas, along with sweets and remedies made in their herb gardens. Join us to create a printed and coloured New Year’s greeting to take home.
