Festival of Archaeology – Illustration Demonstration

Demonstration by Cotswold Archaeology

Tuesday 25 July, 10-12pm

Join Finds Manager, Ed McSloy and Find Officer, Jacky Sommerville and Illustrator, Lucy Martin from Cotswold Archaeology to see how archaeologists record the artefacts they find through illustrations. These drawings are then put into site reports for future reference.

Festival of Archaeology – Meet an Archaeologist

Special Event by Cotswold Archaeology

Wednesday 26 July, 10-12pm

Join Ed and Jacky from Cotswold Archaeology to explore some of the finds from excavations undertaken by the Cotswold Archaeology team. They will be on hand to talk about their roles as archaeologists and some of the objects they unearth, as well as answer inquisitive questions.

Mini Mosaics

Children’s Workshop with Emma Stuart

Wednesday 26 July, 10.30-12pm

Learn the Roman art of mosaic making by creating your own modern mosaic tile to take home. All materials and instruction provided.

Cost: £7.25 per child, £6.25 for season ticket holders

Drop-ins

Roman Shields

Family Drop-in with James Harris

Thursday 27 July, 10-11am

When the Romans took to the battlefields, they protected themselves from weapons with huge decorated shields. Join us to create your very own Roman shield to take home.

Cost: £2.50 per child, £1.50 for season ticket holders
