Cultural Fusion Temporary Display

To coincide with the broadcast of BBC Civilisations series in spring 2018, we will be showcasing objects relating to the theme of Cultural Fusion in our Hare Gallery. The temporary display will feature objects from Corinium (Roman Cirencester) and will reveal the fusion between Celtic and Roman cultures.

Afternoon Talk with Heather Dawson

Thursday 12 April, 2-3pm

Military tombstones can provide a great insight in to the lives of the buried and the practices of the Roman army. This talk will examine tombstones from the museum collections as well as looking at examples from across the country. We will decipher the inscriptions and iconography to reveal their fascinating stories.
